Your New Role...
Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Manager, Social Media Strategy, to join the HBO Max Brand Social Strategy and Operations group. This role is ideal for a seasoned Social Media Manager or Manager with a proven track record of developing and executing social media strategies grounded in data and performance insights to elevate creative output.
The Manager will play a key role in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with internal teams including Brand Marketing, Originals Marketing, Media Relations, Events, Legal, and Programming, as well as partnering within the Brand Social team to plan and execute end-to-end campaign strategies.
The ideal candidate is an internet native who lives and breathes digital culture, keeps a close eye on emerging trends and platforms, and understands how to optimize content to maximize reach and engagement across channels. This person will also help manage the operational side of the social team, ensuring seamless execution and alignment across initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director of Social Strategy and Operations to maintain and evolve campaign and platform strategy across organic owned and earned social.
- Own the calendar of priorities and drive campaign timelines, including overseeing the brand-wide calendar of priorities across the business that ladder into opportunities for the creative team.
- Take an active role in identifying new strategic avenues across social to experiment and expand our audience reach.
- Outline organic social campaign timelines for priority titles, campaigns, cultural moments and more, specific to target audiences and respective platforms.
- Work with the broader Brand Social team to keep all stakeholders informed of deliverables deadlines, key campaign beats, content capture opportunities with talent, etc.
- Act as the global connective tissue to ensure that teams from all international regions are fully enmeshed in our processes and workflows.
- Collaborate with teams within the broader WBD portfolio to align campaigns that span across brands.
- Synthesize reporting and performance insights from across the business into clear and executable recommendations for the Creative team. This includes campaign-specific data, but also viewership trends across the library.
- Manage organizational project management systems that help create efficiencies across global teams and departments.
- Oversee the team’s relationships with our social platform reps to build trust, gain early access to new features, share priorities and partner on ways to amplify our team’s work.
- Pitch innovative ideas, not limited to social, that bring our fan-favorite shows to the forefront of pop culture.
Qualification & Experience:
- 4-5 years of experience in social media management for a major entertainment brand, agency or public figure and 2-4 years of people management experience.
- Ability to prioritize the support needs for various content and brand initiatives from a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of driving social strategy based on performance insights, fan communities and trending topics that drive cultural conversation.
- A spirit of collaboration – a track record of working closely and smoothly with cross-functional, high-performing teams with different objectives
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms, their core audience segments and the intricate technical differences between each.
- Experience working in a social media publishing war room where critical asset releases are carefully choregraphed and published error-free.
- Experience using social media publishing and reporting tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout, ListenFirst, Meta Business Manager, etc.
- Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com, Airtable, Asana, or similar.
- Impeccable communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in an ever-changing digital environment and flexibility
