A Day in the Life

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Supply Enablement, you will play a key role in Medtronic’s Supply Management Solutions organization, specifically within the Lean Sourcing & Digital Transformation team. In this position, you will be part of the Supplier Capacity Program team, working directly with suppliers and cross-functional partners to conduct supplier capacity reviews. You will also lead Supplier Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings. Additionally, you will support and participate in other strategic initiatives and day-to-day programs within the Global Supply Management and Supply Management Solutions organizations.

As a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will:

  • Lead the execution of the Supplier Capacity Program (SIOP) and additional special projects.

  • Coordinate and lead supplier SIOP reviews, prepare meeting presentations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.  

  • Maintain and promote strong GO&SC & GSM relationships with suppliers as well as cross-functional teams within Operations Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality Engineering, among other internal customers.   

  • Mitigate risk, leverage technology and purchase power, and improve processes and systems.

  • Foster functional excellence, continuous improvement, and promote a lean culture to drive enhancements in strategic and transformational program standard work.

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant supply chain, strategic sourcing, or supply management experience or an advanced degree with 2 years of relevant supply chain, strategic sourcing, or supply management.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to supply chain, planning, purchasing, materials, and/or inventory control environment.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and act proactively.

  • Proven communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

  • Experience supporting projects.

  • Solid database and computer skills: i.e., PBI, PowerApps, Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project. Advanced Excel knowledge (vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, macros).

  • Six Sigma Green Belt & Lean manufacturing background.
