We are seeking a professional like you to manage the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of Production area personnel through active engagement of employees via BASF’s four strategic pillars: EHS, Quality, Cost of Capital, & People. As a Lead Production Supervisor, you will provide leadership and technical guidance for Contact Supervisors and Operators in our Seneca, SC site. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring there is a minimal loss of time and material during each production campaign and that all work is completed safely, timely and effectively ensuring that the production schedule is achieved with minimum product quality variation from standards.

As a Production Group Leader, you create chemistry by...

 

• Directly supervising contact supervisors and operators, ensuring they meet product quality targets, and actively participating in root cause investigations.
• Taking charge of daily safety issues, promptly documenting incidents, and diligently managing cases while supporting and adhering to Responsible Care®, EPA, and OSHA initiatives to safeguard employees, contractors, visitors, and the environment.
• Coordinating operations to optimize assets, collaborating with daily execution teams to achieve Maintenance Process Improvements (MPI), and assisting in the coordination, planning, and execution of daily maintenance and shutdown work.
• Leading contact supervisors and operators in daily shift discussions, reviewing safety messages, assigning work, and prioritizing assignments.
• Identifying training needs for operators and ensuring timely provision of required training.
• Developing and mentoring contact supervisors, establishing goals and objectives for yearly performance evaluations.
• Reviewing production reports and providing technical guidance for the production plan.

If you...

 

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
• Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, demonstrating a progressive career trajectory leading to a management position. 
• Have previous experience in successfully leading teams or managing complex projects.
• Demonstrate working understanding of operational processes, application of industry best practices, and expertise in technical problem-solving for smooth operations.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with initiative and the ability to drive results.
• Possess proficiency in a variety of computer applications including e-mail, production reporting (AE database), SAP and Microsoft Office.
