Student Worker - Strategic Communications
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Student Worker – Strategic Communications will support the University’s photo and video initiatives by assisting with scheduling, production coordination, file management, and day-to-day creative operations. This position provides hands-on experience in multimedia production, digital asset organization, and university marketing while supporting the Creative Content Program Director in the execution of strategic storytelling projects across campus.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist with scheduling photo and video shoots, including coordinating availability with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
- Help prepare shoot logistics including call sheets, shot lists, location coordination, and equipment organization.
- Provide on-site support during photo and video shoots as needed.
- Support digital file management, including organizing, labeling, tagging, and archiving photo and video assets in accordance with university standards.
- Track project timelines and assist with maintaining content calendars.
- Provide general administrative and creative support to the Creative Content Program Director and Strategic Communications team.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of university marketing and communications efforts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with digital file management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop) preferred but not required.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Strong time management skills and reliability.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with faculty, staff, students, and leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.25 and have successfully completed 9 credits or more in the most recent fall or spring semester with a GPA of 2.0 or better.
- Must be proficient with programming tools commonly used in data science projects.

- This position requires a criminal background check.
- This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule for this position will be discussed with the assigned staff member, dependent upon the student’s class schedule.
EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: $14.25 hourly.
