Job Overview

The Strategy VP directs, leads, manages, and coordinates the activities and functions of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). The EMPO oversees the management of strategic planning initiatives and facilitates the selection and prioritization of Non Tech projects and programs both short term and long term that align with Citadel’s strategic objectives. This position is responsible for developing, prioritizing, and executing the enterprise project portfolio and coordinating between projects to help drive projects to success. This position oversees formal project management disciplines including a charter to support project leads with methodologies, standards, and tools for planning, executing, and managing projects. The VP is also responsible for coordinating specialized and sensitive projects that could address regulatory, operational, employee experience and client experience issues involving multiple departments and outside vendors.

The EPMO serves at the strategic level to provide organization-wide guidance, governance, standardized processes, and project portfolio management best practices and tools. A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service. The enterprise project portfolio is a suite of projects.

 

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage multiple complex and strategic company programs, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes.
• Oversee a portfolio of critical projects, ranging from short-term to long-term, regardless of the subject matter.
• Engage directly with teams, taking on various tasks to understand and unblock work processes.
• Drive clarity and alignment as business and program strategies evolve.
• Influence and align cross-functional teams, facilitating trade-offs between short-term and long-term needs.
• Manage business cadence for programs, leading detailed discussions, alignment sessions, and decision-making processes.
• Communicate effectively at all levels, producing high-fidelity verbal and written communications.
• Streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and standardize work where possible.
• Provide guidance and leadership to a matrixed Program and Project team.

Qualifications and Education Requirement

Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
• Minimum 7 years of experience in managing PMO functions and/or complex change programs/projects with multi-department/Line of Business impact. 
• Minimum 10 years banking/financial services and/or technology industry experience.

Skills and Knowledge

• Banking and or Credit Union experience preferred
• Management Consulting background highly preferred
• Understands full project lifecycle, can assess impacts, including people, process and technology, manage scope/schedule/risks and deliver project results,.Can drive organizational change and understands how to structure program governance and reporting at the portfolio level.
• Experience in structured analysis, strategy, problem-solving and critical thinking
• Expert with the MS Office Suite with a focused ability to create concise and compelling presentations (Project Plans in MS Project, Presentations in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc).
• Must have strong business savvy with good diplomacy skills in order to influence and be effective with senior executives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and exercise solid judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with highly technical as well as functional partners.

• Knowledge or experience in the implementation and/or support of applications and/or infrastructure environments within a technology organization a plus
