    Essential Prerequisites for all staff members (from Young Life’s Bylaws – Article VII):

    “Because of Young Life’s exclusive Christian purposes of evangelism and discipleship as set forth in its Articles of Incorporation and in these Bylaws, and to reflect what has always been and will continue to be the position of Young Life, specifically the Christian belief that each and every employee and volunteer of the corporation should minister as a servant of God with the primary responsibility of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and, as such, is an integral part of the Christian mission and ministry of the corporation, Young Life shall only employ individuals or enlist volunteer leaders who: (a) profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord; and (b) subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith. Therefore, employees and volunteers of Young Life, during working and nonworking hours, shall: (i) be ready, willing and able to fulfill such ministry functions as may be required by the organization; (ii) refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life, and (iii) abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including, without limitation, those related to religious belief or ministry activities.”

    Essential Duties:

    General Administrative Support:

    • Answer correspondence, scanning, filing, and prepare mailings.
    • Assist field/camp staff with answering day-to-day questions.
    • Help answer the Risk Management phone line.
    • Monitor the Risk Management email inbox and distribute emails to the appropriate team member.
    • Respond to voicemail, e-mail, and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
    • Assist in various Insurance mailings.
    • Order and oversee office supplies.
    • Facilitate meeting arrangements and conference calls.
    • Provide notary services.
    • Help prepare annual budgets and manage the budget costs to ensure expenditures do not exceed budget limits.
    • Research projects as needed.
    • Data entry.

      Insurance:
    • Have a basic understanding of insurance policies and certificates of insurance.
    • Process certificates of insurance as approved.
    • Ensure that all workers’ compensation posters are mailed out to the appropriate locations.
    • Prepare annual accident reporting cards for how to report a claim (activity accident and workers’ compensation).
    • Assist with auto insurance renewal process.

      Safety
    • Research federal, state and local regulations as needed.
    • Assist with managing the H S I training system and the H S I auditing system.

      Customer Service to Staff:
    • Assist staff with rental vehicles and log in records.
    • Assist staff with the requirements to participate in the Healix for groups traveling overseas.
    • Assist in the driver questionnaire process.
    • Review and understand YL policies and procedures.

      Assist the Senior Director of Risk Management and Vice President of Administrative Services:
    • Help manage and schedule meetings.
    • Attend meeting and take minuets.
    • Review and proofread documents/policies/procedures.
    • Assist with meeting preparations.
    • Prepare and submit expense reports in a timely manner.

      Physical Requirements
    • Some small amounts of lifting, generally not more than 20lbs.
    • Daily computer usage.

      Working Conditions:
    • Hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office at the Service Center and 2 days working from home.

      Education:
    • High school education or equivalent with a minimum of one year of college level accounting or equivalent courses.
    • Experience Required For the Job:

    • Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
    • Ability to handle various tasks at one time.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
    • Working knowledge of Workday, Salesforce and RMIS Software preferred.
    • Some insurance or risk management experience or background preferred.
    • Notary preferred.
  • The anticipated hourly rate for this position can range from $16.69-$20.89 depending on relevant education and experience.
