RESPONSIBILITIES

• The ISSO will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for each assigned information system or product.
• The ISSO is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, oversight, and maintenance of the security configuration, practices, and procedures for each product under the ISSO's purview in accordance with federal policies and guidelines.
• ISSO duties and responsibilities fall into five main areas: security operations and management (including access control and other policy implementation), security planning/documentation (i.e.
• RiskVision, SSP, ATO, etc.), security monitoring and evaluation (including audit, assessment and risk management), security awareness and training, and security incident reporting and response management (i.e. POA&Ms, etc).
• Work with product managers and system owners to ensure complete security of the product. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• At a minimum, five (5) years work experience in a computer science- or cyber security-related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience supporting IT projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or similar or equivalent specialized experience (1 year of education = 1.5 years of experience). A bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Mathematics, or Engineering is highly desirable.
• Certified in at least one of the following during the life of the contract: International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC²) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) [SANS] Information Security Professional (GISP), or the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or other certifications exemplifying skill sets such as those described in DoD Instruction 8570.1 IAM Level III proficiency.

We are seeking Top Secret cleared Information System Security Officer (ISSO) (SME) to join our team. This team is responsible for providing IT product lifecycle management, technical expertise, and support for the development and operations lifecycle. The team is engaged in the operation and enhancement of over 80 existing IT applications, including several new applications developed annually. Team activities cover information systems operations, information systems development and modernization, and IT security.

The operation of existing applications and new application initiatives are critical to the success of the mission. Additionally, thousands of personnel in the law enforcement, intelligence, legal, and administrative communities use these services on a daily basis to perform mission-critical work. These applications require responsive, effective, and specialized technical expertise to limit disruption to operations.
