Job Description
The Manager, Revenue Cycle is responsible for managing a team of AR specialists and team leads for assigned customers to deliver best in class results including achieving RCM performance and financial revenue targets for customers and Therapy Brands.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
- Provide direction and leadership to RCM Operations Team included but not limited to Team Lead and AR Specialists within one specialty or more of the Therapy Brands portfolio, providing coaching, 1:1 and direction to direct reports.
- Manage team of AR specialist and team leads with focus on team’s daily and monthly KPIs
- Drive RCM Operations financial performance through billing, accounts receivable, payment posting, customer satisfaction and employee performance.
- Achieve operational and financial KPIs for assigned customers (productivity, quality, AR aging, delinquency, denial rate, cash collections, days to bill, ticket times)
- Utilize data to proactively identify areas of opportunity and barriers to achieving goals, create plan for immediate action, and effectively communicate recommendations to RCM leadership
- Effectively prioritize AR activities for RCM operational teams (on and offshore) to drive towards achieving/exceeding financial goals.
- Hold team accountable for productivity, customer risk, customer responsiveness, tickets, and quality expectations.
- Analyze and address staff performance in a timely and professional manner, provide training and coaching as needed
- Partner with Therapy Brand Customers and RCM Operations leaders to reduce customer risk, drive customer performance and create a successful partnership between RCM and customer.
- Provide proactive resolution of customer issues and timely response to customer questions and tickets
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging information regarding payer contracts and industry legislation and regulations,
- Create a positive team environment through employee engagement initiatives and with an open communication culture
- Assist in ensuring talent is identified, hired, and trained and that the new hire and onboarding process is completed in a way that fosters a successful employee experience
- Collaborate across Therapy Brands, including the Product team to assist in RCM priorities and acceptance testing as needed
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in a relevant field of study preferred
- 4+ years of medical billing or revenue cycle management experience required, with expert-level understanding of behavioral health, substance abuse, or therapy billing required
- 4+ years of customer service/account management experience required
- 2+ years of managerial experience strongly preferred, including candidate selection, and hiring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated presentation skills
- Exceptional ability to de-escalate customers and engage in positive conflict resolution
- Knowledgeable of drivers of revenue cycle optimal performance and be able to investigate and resolve complex claims and reimbursement challenges
- Independent, logical thinker with proven ability to perform detailed data analysis, make sound decisions, and influence decisions using data
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and function well in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate computer skills including experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment with all departments
- Ability to travel
