Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

Job Summary

The Executive Chef serves executives and employees of a prestigious corporate dining account located at 309 W. 49th Street . A competitive salary and 20% bonus eligibility, comprehensive benefits package, and a Monday through Friday schedule all make this an excellent opportunity!

 

This opportunity is ideal for an Executive Chef who enjoys the dual role of a hands-on culinarian and a department leader. You will be tasked with developing outstanding client relationships, handling administrative and production responsibilities, and developing/ inspiring a team, all with the common goal of providing operational excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensure culinary excellence, particularly as it relates to the executive dining program
• Creates and executes a variety of menus in style and size, all to the clients liking
• Ensures R/A standard operating procedures are met 
• Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards
• Develops and inspires the culinary team 
• Manages purchasing and inventory controls
• Performs related duties and special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Degree in Culinary Arts is preferred or equivalent professional experience
• 5 years (minimum) progressive culinary management experience
• Related experience in fine dining, à la carte restaurants or related environment
• Strong knowledge of current food and industry trends with a focus on using quality goods, production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
• Knowledge of budgets, labor costs, inventory controls
• Strong leadership, coaching and training skills
• Proficient computer skills to include various computer programs and Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift, bend and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
• ServSafe or Department of Health certification
