Winnebago Industries, Inc. has an immediate need for an experienced candidate to fill the Senior Accountant. This position will be based at Winnebago’s Middlebury, Indiana location.

Position Description:  The Senior Accountant will be an integral member of the Winnebago Towables accounting team and will focus on maintaining accurate financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data, maintaining strong accounting records, and partnering with the business unit and Enterprise Functions teams.   

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Actively own workstreams in the month-end close process, post certain month-end journal entries, and prepare monthly financial deliverables in accordance with policies
  • Perform timely, complete, and accurate reconciliations of financial records and systems within required time frames. Research reconciling differences and errors, and processes correcting journal entries to maintain accurate financial records in a timely manner 
  • Responsible for significant accounting areas, including warranty, commissions, fixed assets and sales incentives. 
  • Maintain chart of account information
  • Interact with the business on transaction issues, outstanding reconciling items, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support accounting projects and processes within the business unit
  • Execute and retain documentation of key controls
  • Actively participate in working with Enterprise Controller team to ensure appropriate and accurate accounting treatment
  • Support the administration and maintenance of the accounting system (NetSuite) 
  • Develop reporting and assist in variance analysis, utilizing the Enterprise reporting tool (OneStream)
  • Execute various projects and processes, as requested

Critical Competencies

  • Must be self-motivated with an energetic, results-oriented, and customer-focused style along with a strong accounting background 
  • Possess a high-energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement, sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes and personal commitment to meet deadlines
  • Fundamental knowledge of US GAAP and accounting practices
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Suite tools
  • Prior experience with NetSuite or OneStream a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and the ability to work well in a team
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn and use multiple systems and applications
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
