About the job:

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the the Oncology Nurse Navigator, within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, is a professional whose clinical nursing expertise guides patients, families and their caregivers to informed decision-making. In collaboration with other members of the healthcare team identifies, educates and guides the patient with a cancer diagnosis through the healthcare system for timely screening, diagnosis, treatment and increased supportive care across the continuum.

What we're looking for:

· Education: Graduate from school of nursing with a BSN required.

· Licensure / Certification: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Oncology nursing certification (OCN) preferred.

· Experience: Minimum of three years recent and relevant oncology clinical experience.

· Effective Communication Skills

· Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize and manage patient care.

· Demonstrates effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills i.e.: compassion and sensitivity to highly emotional issues.

· Effective in public speaking and establishing a positive public presence.

· Highly motivated with strong leadership skills and teaching abilities.

· Experience in program development preferred.

· Demonstrates ability to holistically assess problematic situations and initiate plan of action in all environments, regardless of support systems.

· Demonstrates ability to work and function independently in a variety of settings.

· Knowledge of internal and external resources/services which provide assistance to identified population.
