Engineer II Mechanical

Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking Mechanical Engineer II candidates to join our talented Mechanical Engineering Department in Downers Grove, IL.  This is a great opportunity to get involved with exciting and challenging projects within various industries for career development and growth. 

• Responsible for completing project specific objectives under direction of a Senior Mechanical Engineer. 

• Specify, evaluate bids, and perform vendor document review for process equipment such as pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, and heat exchangers. 

• Perform calculations for equipment and piping. 

• Specify Materials for process and utility piping services.

• Attend Client, Vendor, and internal team project meetings. 

• Perform field surveys to collect required field data and assist with interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications in the field. 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.

• 2 to 5 years of experience.

• Experience applying standard engineering techniques, ‎procedures, and criteria to ensure compliance with design basis, and safety and environmental regulations.

• Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required for coordination with internal team members as well as Vendors and Clients. 

• Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.

• Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments. 

• Strong desire for continuous improvement and career growth. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the midstream, petrochemical, refining, decarbonization and energy transition industries.
• FE with interest in obtaining PE.
