This is an internal and external customer facing role that will require the ability to succinctly communicate strategies and program plans to all levels of leadership. The preferred candidate will have successfully demonstrated leadership of strategic initiatives.
What You Will Do -
- Lead the development and implementation of the overall Additive Manufacturing (AM) strategy for the Power & Controls (P&C) business.
- Coordinate with other AM initiatives across Collins and RTX.
- Collaborate with the P&C AM Integrated Product Development (IPD) team to
- Transition AM design concepts into full production AM products.
- Define the overall objectives for AM technology development, material characterization, process development, and documentation.
- Assist in executing technology development plans.
- Develop manufacturing and inspection methods and corresponding documentation.
- Identify appropriate AM materials for various projects.
- Develop and execute material characterization plans to ensure quality and performance standards.
- Develop and maintain standard work and process documentation.
- This role will preferably be based in West Des Moines, IA, and reports to the Executive Director of Engineering for the ECS business. The selected candidate for this role is expected to be on-site approximately 75% (or more) of the time. Some travel will be required (generally 25% or less).

- You will gain experience in matrix leadership of IPD teams to achieve customer cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
- You will gain experience in developing and implementing the overall Additive Manufacturing (AM) strategy, focusing on technology development, material characterization, process development, and documentation.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer -
- Experience working in Additive Manufacturing with Aerospace materials
- Active Security Clearance
- Advanced degree in Additive Manufacturing or a relevant Engineering Discipline
