Resource Innovations is seeking an Outreach Lead to join our growing team. The team this role will support is remote with much of the field work focused in Illinois. As a Market Transformation Outreach Lead, you will work in a dynamic environment supporting the implementation of various energy efficiency programs by building and reinforcing relationships with trade allies (i.e. energy service providers, builders, contractors, installation firms, distributors, and/or manufacturers) in the field. The Outreach Lead will also play a crucial role in supporting program operations, training efforts with our defined trade allies, and collaborate with our clients to effectively deliver on key metrics. As an Outreach Lead with Resource Innovations, you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and apply your excellent time management skills. To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in field engagement and a passion for cultivating and maintaining lasting partnerships that create value for our organization and the communities we serve.
Typical focus areas include market transformation and decarbonization (gas and electric) technologies and programs. Outreach and training activities will support a variety of initiatives, including utility client deliverables and new products.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Training and Capacity Building: Support trade allies to build their capacity and increase their expertise in delivering energy efficiency solutions based on program requirements and client expectations. The travel expectations for this role are > 50% in the field. This includes northern and central Illinois and the Chicagoland area.
- Continuous Improvement: Support collaboration with trade allies to improve performance, address issues, and promote success. In coordination with the larger team, recommend and implement process improvements to enhance overall efficiency and project results.
- Program Management: Regularly collect and analyze feedback from trade allies, report to program staff, and use insights to help the Resource Innovations continuously improve its programs.
- Support monthly reporting and other administrative tasks.
- Function as a cooperative and cohesive member of project teams.
- Represent Resource Innovations in a professional manner at internal and external meetings and support booths at conferences.
- Track multiple task or project deadlines and alerts manager in advance of conflicts.
- Support program delivery teams’ development of quantitative and qualitative market surveys and conduct supply-chain and consumer-focused market research.
- Follow up with internal cross-functional teams on client deliverables.
- Continuously assess project progress to goal and develop creative solutions to new issues or market dynamics.
- Work independently and in teams to conduct tasks related to program delivery and continuous improvement efforts.
- Bring a positive, action-oriented attitude to the workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in energy sector, energy management, sustainability, or related field
- Ability to travel 50% in northern and central Illinois and Chicagoland area.
- The position requires a valid US driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle for travel to connect with key partners throughout the defined service area. Mileage for work-related travel will be reimbursed.
- Understanding of electric and natural gas energy systems and associated measures (HVAC, boilers, insulation, air sealing, windows, etc.)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheets.
- Highly motivated and positive attitude.
- Commitment to high-quality customer service and the ability to address customer issues/concerns.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a variety of team members while balancing schedules, budgets, and dynamic project demands.
- Experience troubleshooting problems and recommending solutions
- Ability to identify process improvements and communicate plans for improvement
Preferred skills, education, and experience
- B.S. or B.A. prefer
