The MROf owns model policy at Capital One, and sits at the intersection of Data Science, Business, Risk Management, and Technology – with a mission to cultivate data and modeling excellence at Capital One. We work with modeling teams across the enterprise to ensure sound modeling practices while simultaneously championing innovation and regulatory compliance.
As a CoS Project Manager on the Chief of Staff team, you will be responsible for shaping the internal management operations of our >200 associate organization, as well as providing organizational leverage to senior leadership. This is a ‘high visibility’ role that will be instrumental in maximizing the overall impact and effectiveness of the Model Risk Management organization, and can be considered an ‘Assistant Chief of Staff’ opportunity for professionals interested in growing their general management toolkit.
The CoS Project Manager will play a key role in the design and well-managed execution of:
Budget and headcount management processes
Annual strategic planning
Coordinating preparation cycles for key leadership ceremonies, including: Monthly Business Reviews, Town Halls, quarterly regulatory reviews, executive leadership forums, board reporting, and other cross-functional working groups
Stakeholder engagement and transparency strategy/ agenda – to ensure well-orchestrated delivery of key strategic priorities
Talent strategy and management cycles
Lead or support other special projects as they arise, based on business needs

Highly organized; with strong project management toolkit and process orientation
Strong verbal and written communication (lots of writing)
Comfortable building and maintaining positive relationships with VP+ executive leaders

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 3 years of project management, process management, or event management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in operational, or project management office (PMO) environments
2+ years of experience with direct senior/executive leadership interaction and support
2+ years of experience in Consulting or other project-based strategy or transformation roles
Strong oral and written communication skills
Prior experience with second-line Business Risk organizations and concepts, such as Model Risk
Prior experience managing FP&A processes and budgeting cycles

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Project Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
