Position Summary
The Donor Officer II plays a key role in supporting the philanthropic and patient experience goals of Cincinnati Children’s. This position provides high-level coordination and navigation services for patients and families referred by hospital leadership, board members and other senior staff while also serving as a liaison to the Development Team to support donor engagement and stewardship. The role requires deep experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient & Family Coordination
Provide concierge-level navigation and coordination for outpatient and inpatient visits.
Collaborate with department and division leads to ensure seamless scheduling and service delivery.
Support families with complex needs, including travel logistics, second opinions, and interhospital communications.
Communication & Relationship Management
Communicate effectively with hospital leadership, senior staff, community leaders, and patient families.
Demonstrate diplomacy, discretion, and emotional intelligence in all interactions.
Customer Service Excellence
Deliver an exceptional patient and family experience by orchestrating registration, financial clearance, and scheduling processes.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource on hospital systems and services.
Philanthropic Engagement
Support the Champions Program by identifying and connecting Grateful Families to the Development Team.
Facilitate direct communication between families and donor officers to advance philanthropic goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal teams such as Health Network Foundation, Concierge Scheduling, and Destination Excellence.
Work closely with senior physicians to support medically complex patients and enhance workflows across departments.
Help establish and refine processes that improve service delivery and donor engagement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in donor relations, patient services, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex logistics and sensitive situations
- Proven ability to lead initiatives and mentor others
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce or similar platforms
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and donor engagement strategies
