This is a remote position. The selected colleague will generally be expected to work at an MUFG office periodically. A member of our recruitment team will discuss location preferences with you in more detail.

Credit Risk Reporting, Managing Director

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for oversight and management of the credit risk data and reporting, within MUFG’s Combined U.S Operations (CUSO), Americas Risk Management Group. 

The position will oversee production of credit risk reports used by credit risk managers, the Chief Risk Officer, the Chief Credit Officer, the U.S. Risk Committee, Home Office, and by colleagues across both First and Second Lines of Defense as they seek to understand and govern the Bank’s diverse credit portfolio risks. As a result, the position will interact with a wide group of global stakeholders to ensure CUSO’s ongoing adherence to risk management framework, regulatory guidance, internal controls and other compliance requirements.

The position will be responsible for credit reporting requirements and ensuring the ongoing integrity of the data on which the credit reports rely. This position will also lead credit risk appetite production and reporting, monitoring risk levels and trends as economic and portfolio trends evolve.

Major Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Develop and implement business strategy defining First Line and independent Second Line of Defense credit reporting expectations, ongoing production routines.

  • Cultivate relationships with credit risk experts by ensuring reporting provides appropriate analytical insight of relevant and evolving credit portfolio risk levels, trends, and/or changes.

  • Working closely with Home Office on all aspects of credit risk monitoring to ensure close alignment and integration with global requirements.

  • Participate in CUSO governance routines, including leading speaker in Credit Risk Committee meetings.

  • Americas Risk Management leadership, organizational development and recruiting.

  • Work with finance partners for staffing and data/technology projects’ planning strategy.

Credit Reporting:

  • Produce impactful credit risk reporting that’s timely, accurate and complete for a broad audience spanning both internal executives and external regulatory, audit stakeholders.

  • Lead the production and reporting of credit risk appetite metrics production in collaboration with Credit Risk and LOBs.

  • Collaborate with credit risk executives to define report content requirements (e.g., relevant metrics, trends, frequency, controls, etc.) for new and modified credit risk reporting requests.

  • Enhance quality of credit reporting and internal controls supporting the underlying credit data and report preparation processes.

  • Influence design and execution of appropriate, efficient internal controls that ensure data integrity and effectively support routine credit reporting processes.

  • Ensure the suite of credit risk reports follows the Bank’s data, reporting, controls, and credit policies and procedures.

  • Partner with data and technology colleagues to enhance the bank’s credit risk infrastructure by ensuring credit reporting solutions are robust, scalable, and secure.

  • Monitor and implement, as appropriate, industry best practices for report content and production tools.

  • Stay informed of regulatory requirements/expectations for credit risk and ensure reporting reflects such.

Qualifications:

  • 15 plus years of relevant industry experience with at least 10 years of Financial Services reporting experience; expertise in credit risk and credit risk reporting.

  • Bachelor's Degree require
