Senior Manager, SEC Reporting

Summary:

Responsible for preparation and review of SEC filings including MD&A and footnote disclosures. Successful candidates will have extensive technical accounting skills, a professional approach, and strong communication skills. 

Relationship & Scope:

The Manager, Financial Reporting will report to the AVP, SEC Reporting and is a pivotal member of the team responsible for SEC filings. The Manager will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel including financial analysts, divisional leadership, and functional staff to interpret financial data and operational performance. 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the review of all SEC filings including financial statements, footnotes, disclosures and supporting documentation
  • Be accountable for various analytical and reporting responsibilities that include the ability to work within finance and other departments
  • Recognize, research, and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues
  • Provide supervision and support financial analysts with their responsibilities
  • Analyze technical accounting topics and propose conclusions
  • Assist in XBRL reporting for all SEC filings, which includes researching tags and staying up-to-to-date with new taxonomy
  • Assist with the implementation of FASB projects and standards

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance 
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills with an ability to learn accounting software
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required 
  • Proven problem solving skills
