Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of Data Science to establish our Data Science Center of Excellence and drive data science at scale. This role will be instrumental in shaping our data science strategy, responsible for leading cross functional collaboration & alignment, and operationalization of data science across the enterprise to drive business growth, optimize processes, and enhance customer experiences.
- Develop and execute the data science strategy in collaboration with cross functional organizational goals, and upholding industry best practices
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Establish standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and quality in data science initiatives. Identify opportunities cross functionally to consolidate models, features, and feature store strategy for innovation efficiency
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to extract actionable insights from complex datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data science to solve business challenges and improve operational efficiency
- Ensure operationalization of data science initiatives and seamless integration for process and business improvement
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, privacy, and security standards are upheld
- Partner with senior leadership to communicate the value of data science initiatives and secure buy-in for strategic projects
- Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies, and assess their potential applications within the organization
- Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders involved in data science projects
We’d love to chat if you have:
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a leadership role within data science, with a track record of driving successful data-driven initiatives
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala
- Strong understanding of big data technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Executive presence; excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in recruiting, mentoring, and developing high-performing data science teams
Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below.
