Lead Security Officer

Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for all aspects of assigned shifts to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, students, and guests.

Essential Duties:

• Assign starting posts for officers coming on shift
• Ensure rotation between HQ and Charis is done in an orderly manner
• Assist in the training of security officers and the orientation of new hires
• Conduct training in various security skills, not limited to C-Cure, report writing, and patrol techniques
• Ensure excellent customer service is provided to staff, students, and visitors
• Oversee and conduct investigations/interviews to gather facts regarding incidents that occur on ministry property and oversee the preparation of written reports
• Familiar with all security systems
• Assist staff/students/visitors with day-to-day requests, render aid and/or summon medics, and handle other requests as they occur
• Act as a supervisor in the absence of the Security Operations Officer or Director of Security
• Identify areas for improvement within security operations and report to the Security Operations Officer
• Other duties as assigned

• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to drag 100 lbs. for 50 feet
• Able to lift 80 pounds
• Ability to operate Windows-based computer systems

Requirements:

• Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Must sign the Statement of Faith
• A high school diploma or equivalent education is required
• Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Shall participate in and complete defensive tactics training 
• Reliable transportation
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with good driving record, must always be in possession while on duty  
• May be required to take a medical exam, drug test, and/or physical fitness assessment
• Must pass all required checks

Experience:

• Prior AWM/CBC security officer experience preferred 
• Compensation is commensurate with experience
