Job Description:

The Emily Hotel Chicago is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing individual with a passion for hospitality. The primary objective of the Housekeeping Inspector is to ensure Guest/Employee satisfaction.  This position is responsible for supervising individual Room Attendants, House Attendants and the training of housekeeping staff.  Responsible for the cleanliness and inventory of items in guest rooms, also ensures common areas are clean and maintained, promotes a positive image of the property to everyone.

What Will You Do?

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for supervising the training of new associates and re-training housekeepers as needed.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping staff have the appropriate supplies and linens.
  • Ensure that the Room Attendant carts are neat and well organized.
  • Responsible for inspecting all assigned rooms; thoroughly checking the entire room for cleanliness and inventory after the housekeeper has completed the work.
  • Supervise staff in assigned work area.
  • Report to Housekeeping the status of rooms when ready.
  •  By the end of your shift, verify with Housekeeping coordinator / manager the status of all assigned rooms.
  • Responsible for making sure Lost & Found procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for checking all departure and vacant pick up/clean/out of order rooms every day.
  • Complete written inspections per assigned housekeepers and turn in weekly.
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safe working practices and conditions within the department.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work under extreme work pressure.
  • Assist with departmental inventories.
  • Report all Rooms and Property discrepancies to appropriate departments (through email or radio)
  • Adhere to the established standard of conduct and house rules, fire regulations, department procedures and policies.
  • Maintain a positive and pleasant attitude with guests and associates.  Maintain positive Employee morale and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times..

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of Hospitality Industry
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.


 

Salary Range:

$25.00 -$27.00
