Job Summary

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute (HPHCI) is currently seeking a highly motivated, action-oriented, and resourceful Project Manager to join the Division of Health Policy and Insurance Research (HPI). HPI sits within Harvard Medical School’s Department of Population Medicine (www.populationmedicine.org), and studies effects of high-cost medical care (including consumer-directed health plans and high-deductible insurance), pharmaceutical policies, health insurance innovations (such as value-based insurance designs), personalized medicine, delivery system changes, opioid policy, physician workforce distribution, behavioral interventions, and cost-quality trade-offs. Our mission is to produce rigorous evidence and build research capacity to inform policies and system innovations that improve health outcomes, especially among vulnerable populations. The diversity of HPI’s portfolio affords opportunities for team members to work on a wide-range of public health issues.

The Project Manager will be managed by HPI’s Senior Project Manager and will work under the direction of HPI’s investigators and be responsible for providing overall management of research projects, primarily focused on health policy and insurance research. The Project Manager will provide oversight of project work to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished within budget, schedule, and scope. They will identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate, and monitor current and future risks and support the needs of multiple stakeholders. This position requires excellent communication skills for close collaboration with internal and external investigators, funders, and project managers and is an ideal match for a candidate with health policy experience.
