(EWR) Assistant General Manager, Hub Services

What to expect:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM), Hub Services is responsible for managing and supporting United Ground Express operational performance through effective engagement of our employee team at our Newark (EWR) hub airport location while delivering United’s flyer friendly service to our customers. The AGM of Hub Services will report to the General Manager and support that leader in ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and compliance standards established by United Ground Express, United Airlines, and other regulatory authorities.
How you will make an impact: At the direction of the General Manager, Hub Services:
- Support the Hub team in achieving operational performance goals within a safe and caring environment.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to the management team to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained while delivering a superior level of customer service.
- Responsible for building and maintaining a positive work environment, strong employee relations, and collaborative relationships.
- Responsible for internal/external audits, financial reporting, budgeting, maintaining records of employee injuries, incidents, accidents as well as compliance with all regulatory agency rules and regulations pertaining to the operation.
- Proactively solicits customer feedback to make service improvements and exceed expectations.
- Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or irregular operations.
- Monitors station performance metrics and works collaboratively with UGE’s leadership team to achieve or exceed performance goals.
- Ensures all employees are properly trained and understand their assigned duties.
- Ensures injuries, incidents, accidents, and/or customer service issues are properly documented and processed.
- Ensures the assigned location operates in a safe, caring, dependable and efficient manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge in cabin cleaning and security search functions
- Experience managing teams in an operational environment
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast paced operation
- Analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership, and service-oriented performance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem solving, organizational and planning skills
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach others
- Must possess and maintain a valid US state driver's license. (Suspended, expired, revoked or denied licenses are not valid)
- Flexible schedule availability to oversee a 24 hour a day 7 days per week operation including weekends and holidays
- MS Office applications
