As a DISTRIBUTION OPTIMIZATION MANAGER  supporting our CONTINUOUS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT TEAM, you will be trusted with THE BUSINESS PROCESS QUALITY WORK FOCUSING ON DEVELOPING, IDENTIFYING, AND IMPROVISING EXISTING GENERAL BUSINESS PROCESSES at JOHNS CREEK MANUFACTURING in JOHNS CREEK, GEORGIA.   

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Partner with distributors to drive internal changes to the Johns Creek Distribution Center that reflect the external desires of our customers as Johns Creek Distribution Center transitions to a more Direct-to-Consumer business model.

• Lead continuous improvement projects in order to improve flow, reduce lead times, reduce outgoing freight costs, and optimize forward pick location utilization through inventory re-profiling.

• Partner with the internal teams to ensure that enhancements to the Warehouse Management/Control System and Automation properly reflect the designs needed to drive KPI’s.

• Lead/Support implementation of labor standards for all key processes and identification/assessment of operational improvements.

• Lead/support execution of key projects that support JCD distribution strategy. 

• Primarily responsible for driving the cross-functional process improvement program within JCD as part of the overall Operational Excellence agenda.

• Lead a team of 2 direct reports, (1 exempt & 1 non-exempt)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• 5 Years of Relevant Experience 

• Work hours: Monday through Friday – 8:00am – 5:00pm (with flexibility to work off shifts)

• Travel Requirements: 0 to 10%

• Relocation assistance: Yes

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE – ROLE METRICS:

• Timely implementation of Supply Chain Projects according to defined schedules

• Achievement of agreed targets in terms of cost, service, quality and customer satisfaction

• Expanded portfolio of new services and capabilities for JCD to streamline the overall supply chain

• Reduced Cost Per Unit (CPU) for accountable departments/functions and outgoing freight costs

• Operational KPI’s: Receiving turnaround time; Order throughput per hour; Mailbox and large order turn time
