Associate General Counsel, Digital Assets

As Associate General Counsel reporting to the VP Deputy General Counsel, you'll play a critical role in providing legal and regulatory guidance on digital assets, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain initiatives while serving as a regulatory generalist within Nasdaq's award-winning Legal Division.

Key Responsibilities
Advise Nasdaq's Digital Assets business on evolving legal and regulatory requirements for digital asset securities, crypto trading, tokenization, and blockchain products.
Draft and review regulatory filings, legal documents, and submissions required to advance business objectives and maintain compliance.
Provide guidance on federal securities and commodities laws, anti-money laundering regulations, and state and international regulatory frameworks.
Partner with cross-functional teams across the U.S. and Europe to align legal strategy with business priorities.
Support investigations, litigation matters, and enforcement inquiries while advising on company policies and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in good standing.
10–12 years of legal experience with significant focus on digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain regulatory matters.
In-house legal experience at a digital assets company or law firm experience advising digital asset clients.
Strong ability to apply federal securities and commodities laws to emerging digital asset markets.
Clear communicator with experience in collaborative, cross-functional legal environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations.
Familiarity with international digital asset regulations and cross-border compliance frameworks.
This position can be located in New York, Philadelphia, or Boston and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
