Identify strategic process improvement opportunities within designated areas, apply lean six sigma tools and methodologies to complex business processes, and implements solutions which provide positive performance and financial impacts. Prepares analyses and presents information on improvement opportunities and results to process owners and key stakeholders. Works cross functionally across organization to facilitate effective project completion.
Your day to day:
- Specialist level professional recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience leading difficult and complex cross-functional projects to drive improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost and to deliver a desired result to the business
- Manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager
- Coaches, reviews, delegates work and develops other professionals or teams
- Collaborates and partners with Global Manufacturing OpEx teams to deploy lean six sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies consistently across the organization
- Responsible for identifying, scoping and prioritizing improvement opportunities within assigned area of responsibility
- Provides full project, analysis, and Lean Six Sigma consulting capabilities as needed
- Leads cross-functional, complex continuous improvement initiatives that are critical to short and long-term strategic goals
- Responsible for portfolio management and execution of assigned projects, including assigned black belt projects, and any Global Manufacturing projects
- Ensure key stakeholder alignment and visibility of project expectations, progress, and results
- Identifies barriers to project success and solicit help from program champions as needed
- Provides lean and six sigma project (coaching) to project team members, Green Belts and Champions
- Must provide field presence and support to establish relationships and to help create employee engagement
- Participates in annual planning cycle to develop strategies and financial goals related to the overall business strategy
What you need to be successful in his role:
- Bachelor’s degree required - STEM preferred
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience in manufacturing
- Preferred ten (10) years’ experience in manufacturing
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred. You will be required to become certified for this role
- Compliance – Has experience and ability to achieve compliance goals, through a risk-based approach; Has a deep understanding of modern manufacturing/lean techniques
- Strategic Thinking – Can identify opportunities that add value to the work and proactively mitigate risk across the value chain working across boundaries
- Collaboration/Influence - Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills to effectively work across groups. Must possess the ability to influence without authority and demonstrate the ability to effectively operate in an ambiguous/changing environment.
- Business Outcomes /Drive Results – Ability to use deep knowledge and expertise in production operations to drive results and business outcomes
