Job Description
The Parking and Transportation Services Department is seeking students interested in employment for front office administration support.
Responsibilities
Greet visitors and respond to phone calls;
Assist customers (faculty/staff/students/visitors) with parking rules and regulations;
Handle cash for permit purchase and citation payments;
Enter data into specialized Parking Operations Software and Outlook calendar;
Scan and file documents for retention;
Deliver documents to various on-campus departments; and
Provide general administrative support to the front-line staff and special events coordinator.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must:
Be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno;
Have and maintain at least a cumulative GPA of 2.0;
Be able to work through winter and summer breaks;
Be able to work a minimum of two hours at a time during business hours. See schedule below;
Be hard-working, reliable, and punctual with good organizational skills;
Possess the ability to work with minimal supervision while handling multiple assignments;
Maintain confidentiality;
Have strong Microsoft Office skills; and
Present a professional appearance with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Students that have working knowledge of various buildings and departments on campus are encouraged to apply.
A valid Class “C” driver’s license is preferred.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Walking or standing to a significant degree
Pushing and/or pulling
Exerting 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
Schedule
During Semester: Up to 25 hours a week
During breaks: Up to 40 hours a week
Shifts will be scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and must be able to work a minimum of two hours at a time during business hours.
