School Psychologist (K-8) (Bilingual Preferred)

JOB OVERVIEW:
To facilitate learning and to promote the cognitive, social, and personal development of all students 
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

1. Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards 
2. Deliver a planned and coordinated program of psychological services in an organized, timely manner
3. Apply ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of school psychological services and observe relevant laws and policies that govern practice
4. Identify and assess the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, as well as, the environmental factors that affect learning
5. Use assessment data about the student and his/her environment(s) in developing appropriate interventions 
6. Assists building leadership and Learning Center teams in implementing the RTI process
7. Supports classroom teachers in developing interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment 
8. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
9.  Provide consultation to parents, teachers, other school personnel, and community agencies to enhance the learning and adjustment of students
10.  Assist in the planning, development, and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Letters of application
• Recommendations and/or references, ability to work as a team member and previous experience with elementary age and middle school students is preferred
• Applicant must be a certified school psychologist 
• Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first.  If no previous teaching experience in the specific class, recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will be considered.
• Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred

        

Evaluation:  As per current collective bargaining agreement
