Job Description

The General Ledger (GL) Senior Accountant is one of the key roles within the Financial Accounting team responsible for delivering month-end accounting entries that impacts Balance Sheets and P&L. The GL Senior Accountant is responsible for booking, review and completion of journal entries, analysis and accuracy of BS reconciliations, solving other relevant accounting issues in compliance with local legislation, and supervising less experienced accountants.

• Member of GL team responsible for Czech entity
• Preparing and posting complex journal entries for company accounts, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
• Perform a Month End Closing activities (Deferrals, Accruals, FX revaluation, Intercompany and others)
• Reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts to general ledger; investigating more complex discrepancies and determining appropriate course of action
• Developing spreadsheets for account analysis and journal entries in order to keep records organized and standardized
• Administration of VAT returns and other reporting to Czech tax authorities
• Cooperate with internal and external partners as auditors, tax advisors, Czech authorities, and other departments
• Documenting, and coordinating implementation of accounting control procedures
• You may provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced colleagues
• Participating in diverse projects in order to provide an expertise
• Cooperate closely with General Ledger Manager/Team Leader on various tasks and projects
• Participate in special projects by supporting management and the project team in various tasks (currently SAP project)
• Engage in process improvement initiatives
• Have solid understanding of end to end process
• Responsible for complex accounting and reporting matters

Qualifications

• 2+ of accounting experience
• Experience in a multinational corporation
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• Understand Financial Statements & fiscal closing activities
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
• English and Czech on communicative level
• Be Team Player and supportive
• Ability to set priorities and work under time pressure with can-do attitude.
• MS Office skills, advanced level in MS Excel
• Experience with Navision or SAP is an advantage
