Harley-Davidson Motor Company, founded in a humble Milwaukee backyard shed in 1903, still calls the city home. Today, its Corporate Campus includes a 4.8-acre public park—a welcoming greenspace open to all. Join our team as a Dir Facilities Real Estate and Security.

 

The Director of Facilities, Real Estate, and Security will oversee global facilities management, real estate portfolio, and security operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive environment for all company assets, including people, property, and reputation. This role requires strategic vision, leadership, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business value and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Management:
•    Oversee the management of multiple company facilities, including manufacturing facilities, buildings and grounds.
•    Direct cost estimates for building renovations and space allocations.
•    Develop plans and designs for major construction or modernization projects.
•    Ensure compliance with regulatory and OSHA requirements.
•    Manage third-party relationships and outsourced services such as facilities support, food services, 3rd-party contractors and office services.
•    Represent the organization in matters associated with land development, planning commissions, city and county governing bodies.
Real Estate Portfolio Management:
•    Lead global real estate strategy and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
•    Develop recommendations related to the global footprint and working environments.
•    Oversee property management considerations related to construction projects, space renovations, and tenant improvements.
Security Operations:
•    Provide comprehensive oversight for the global physical security program.
•    Lead internal criminal investigations and support HR and Legal investigations.
•    Ensure security initiatives align with business operations and corporate strategies for contingency and crisis planning.
•    Develop and implement policies and procedures for corporate physical security programs.
•    Optimize internal and external resources to protect company assets.
•    Conduct preliminary investigations and report findings to senior management.
Project Management:
•    Lead large-scale construction and renovation projects from inception through closeout.
•    Coordinate with internal and external resources, design professionals, and officials.
•    Ensure project objectives related to cost, schedule, scope, and risk are met.
Customer Focus:
•    Proactively understand internal customer wants, needs, and requirements.
•    Deliver total business value through effective methods and practices.
Financial Responsibility:
•    Forecast, track, and manage departmental budgets and resource utilization.
•    Drive continual improvement in effectiveness and efficiency to minimize costs.
Continuous Improvement:
•    Develop and refine processes to continuously improve function and value.
•    Create and foster a climate of continuous improvement within the workforce.
•    Proactively pursue new and better methods and identify ways to reduce costs to the business.

 

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required


Experience Requirements:
•    Minimum of 10 years of related experience, including 5 years of global facilities/real estate management.
•    Proven track record in facility and real estate management, business development, and security operations.
•    Experience in managing outsourced provider relationships.
•    Strong analytical abilities and use of data to solve business problems.
•    Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and community.
•    Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Manufacturing Facilities Experience
