The Position
Department Summary
Our long term goal is to revolutionize clinical diagnostics through the creation of advanced molecular diagnostics that facilitate personalized, proactive treatments and lead to improved outcomes for patients. This will be accomplished through the identification of clinical/scientific needs and the application of novel molecular technologies to meet these clinical needs. We work on the critical, important problems standing in the way of the routine clinical use of next generation sequencing (NGS) diagnostics in oncology, genetics, women’s health, immunology, and infectious disease worldwide. We are looking for new group members who share our vision and have advanced skill sets relevant to NGS, genomics, and bioinformatics. We work at the forefront of Research and Early Development to incorporate the latest technology advances into new sequencing assays and applications. This internship position is located in Pleasanton, on site.
Key Responsibilities
Design, perform & analyze methods optimizing methylation sequencing workflows.
Collaborate closely with molecular biology and bioinformatics groups to evaluate and identify potential parameters that may impact methylation sequencing performance
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Required Education:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
Required majors: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields
Required skills:
Good understanding of NGS library preparation, targeted enrichment, and sequencing
Ability to work well in teams and across disciplines with complex systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
The candidate should be passionate and self-motivated with a strong desire to acquire on-the-job training
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in California is $21.00 - $55.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
