RWE Clean Energy’s Asset Management team takes accountability for the commercial success of a >8 GW portfolio of renewable energy assets. Through close collaboration with Operations & Maintenance and various Financial stakeholders, the team drives tactical and strategic initiatives optimizing the performance of all assets.
The Senior Asset Analyst will assist the portfolio manager in driving the profitability of wind, solar, and battery storage assets in the South region, analyzing operational and financial performance, and identifying the causes for underperformance. The Senior Asset Analyst will also support the development, implementation, and management of production enhancement or cost savings initiatives resulting from the performance analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key project partners such as internal stakeholders, landowners, local governmental bodies, lenders, etc.
- Analyze the operational performance of the assets; identify and investigate underperformance and collaborate with Engineering and Operations to develop and implement remediation plans
- Participate in the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of individual assets and the department at large
- Drive long-term profitability and risk minimization
- Evaluate and manage long-term maintenance strategies for assets in the portfolio, manage maintenance contracts, and monitor asset status
- Proactively manage the contractual ecosystem of each asset to ensure all contractual and regulatory obligations are met by utilizing and maintaining RWECE's compliance system
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and performance improvement
- Produce and review operating reports. Manage reporting cycle to ensure timely, accurate reporting of financial, operational, and contractual obligations
- Perform ad hoc analysis as required to support Asset Management and Project Development teams
- Implement and continuously improve local asset management systems and processes consistent with organizational policies and standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in the energy field or comparable analyst position required
- Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative focus (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related major) is required, a Master’s Degree is a plus
- Budgeting, forecasting, energy industry, and Asset Management experience are highly desirable
- Strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate technical findings into commercial implications
- Proactive, motivated, and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a drive for high standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage customer relationships and represent the company
- Ability to multi-task and solid planning and organizing skills to include effective prioritization and resource management
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and/or experience with PowerBI and Tableau preferred
- Experience or coursework in computer programming (Python, VBA, MATLAB) and database management is preferred
- Proactively identify and prioritize opportunities and work towards resolution independently or as part of a team
