About the role

Responsibilities

This Network IT Manager position is located on-site at the Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS. The candidate will provide daily guidance and support to IT staff at four locations (Pascagoula, MS;

Bath, ME; Norfolk, VA; and San Diego, CA). Candidate will also provide IT supports services for the Fleet Introduction Project. This project provides Pre-commissioning (PCU / PCD) support to ship's force for administrative and technical services.  Fleet Introduction work is performed in an integrated support team environment that includes government and Noblis teams that work closely with  Program Executive Offices (PEOs) SHIPS, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Shipbuilders and the ship's crewmembers.

 

The IT Manager position requires a Bachelor's degree in Applied Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Prospective candidates will have a strong proficiency in network management, systems administration, IT security, project management skills, leadership abilities to manage IT teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. They will report directly to onsite Project Manager and provide daily support to our customers - U.S. Navy, government representatives and contractor personnel.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing IT projects: Overseeing and establishing deadlines for major IT projects, such as system updates, software and hardware upgrades, migrations, asset management and outages. 
  • Managing IT staff: Recruiting, training, and coaching employees. 
  • Assigning tasks and priorities
  • Researching and evaluating emerging technologies, hardware, and software. 
  • Presenting IT progress to the broader team or entire organization. 
  • Addressing customer issues that have been escalated from the support team.
  • Providing user accounts for SIPR access as required.
  • Ongoing permission audits of SharePoint sites.
  • Assist with IT Helpdesk issues.
  • Provide support for Ticketing System via SharePoint.
  • SharePoint Management: Create and manage user accounts, email addresses, distribution and security groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5+ years of experience (or a Master's and 3+ years)
  • Active Security Clearance with a SSBI/T5 investigation
  • Current Security+ Certification.
  • Windows Server 2019 Certification or greater

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or management experience is strongly preferred
  • NMCI/Flank Speed experience.
  • Familiar with Flank Speed Account Service Tool (FsAST) and NMCI Enterprise Tool (NET).
  • Familiar with Asset Management.
  • Hold and retain a Site Collection Admin (SCA) certificate.
  • Hold and retain a Trusted Agent (TA) certificate.
