Line of Business: Business Cards & Payments (BC&P)

The name of our organization is Business Cards & Payments (BC&P)! The word “Business” reflects our mission to serve a broad range of customers, and aligns with our external positioning as Capital One Business. “Cards & Payments” reflects our current leadership position in Small Business and Commercial Cards - as well as our aspiration to serve a wide range of needs for our customers Beyond the Card. BC&P overall annual purchase volume is ~$150B!   

Job Responsibilities: 

We have recently brought together the functions of Manual Underwriting, Loss Mitigation, Operations / Servicing, and Risk Management into one team.  This wide range of accountabilities are critical to BC&P and includes ~170 direct associates plus ~35 dedicated technology associates.  The Accountable Executive for this department is hiring a Sr. Manager - Chief of Staff to help lead this expansive team.  The responsibilities for this role will primarily align to the areas of Culture, Engagement & Strategy, Leadership, and Budget & Team Planning. Some examples are provided below:

Culture & Engagement:

  • Lead team communications strategy and execution

  • Partner with peers to develop and implement cultural principles and engagement activities

  • Plan content for key team events (e.g. town halls, people leader offsites, etc.)

  • Contribute to people and talent efforts (DIB, performance and talent management, etc.)

  • Analyze and interpret associate engagement trends

  • Help lead the team through change management 

 

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Lead horizontal priorities and special projects 

  • Help develop and manage team objectives and key results

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Structure leadership interactions to efficiently and effectively deliver business objectives

  • Liaison to partner teams across BC&P and Capital One

Budget & Team Planning:

  • Manage team budget and headcount decision process

  • Associate work planning (e.g. hybrid and work from home policy management)

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 5 years of project management, process management, or corporate event management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience partnering with senior leadership 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of change management experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in organizational development and performance

  • 2+ years of experience in Internal Business Communications or working within a Chief of Staff team

  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry or consulting
