The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

 

The Spaceflight Processing, Test Integration Department is looking for highly qualified Engineering candidates to join the SLS/Orion Test Project Engineering (TPE) team.  Applicants must meet the basic qualifications and eligibility requirements, as defined below. The candidate will be a member of the Test Integration Department functioning as a Test Project Engineer.

 

Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Primary function is to support the Launch Control Center firing room console operations; integrating tests of ground support equipment, spaceflight hardware, and Launch of the SLS rocket.

·       Serve as the technical advisor to the Test Management Team and provide real-time technical integration in support of all anomalies/non-conformances for all firing room managed activities.

·       Real-time technical integration between console/engineering disciplines, elements/programs, and other stakeholders across multiple NASA programs.

·       Support Exploration Ground Systems and Cross Program planning, test plan development, and support the path to testing assessment while identifying dependencies.

·       Responsible for authoring and executing work plans for Integrated Test and Check Out.

·       Lead the development of operational test requirements and launch commit criteria for the SLS/ORION/EGS programs.

·       Serve as a technical specialist and acts as a contributing member of management teams for policy formulation.

·       Performs random quality and continuous improvement assessments on work plans to ensure procedures are being followed and work is completed correctly.

·       Perform and take on new projects as assigned.
