The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Production Supervisor will be part of a team that provides supervisory support for the 3M Hartford City adhesive coating and tape converting operations. This employee will be responsible for driving Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Employee Engagement improvements.
As a Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Provide direct supervision to union employees
- Ensure a safe working environment through modeling safe behaviors, leading audits / inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, conducting crew meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipment
- Inspire integrity by upholding and complying with 3M policies and guidelines
- Provide leadership for assigned operations by fostering cross-functional teamwork and communicating goals of the organization to employees
- Complete administrative activities such as time / absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, and etc.
- Plan daily work schedules, allocate work assignments, and regulate production processes in order to meet specific daily production requirements
- Provide necessary coaching, feedback and disciplinary action to assigned production group
- Drive continuous improvement by leading Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects
- Provide basic troubleshooting of equipment and quality issues
- This position may include working weekend shifts and extended hours
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher (Completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Five (5) combined years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering from an accredited university
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to create, lead, and work in a team atmosphere
- Ability to drive and influence positive change
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processes
- Effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work in teams and individually to achieve results
Work Location:
- Hartford City, IN
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic or international travel
Relocation: Is not authorized
