We are currently looking for a skilled & passionate Director Product to become part of and lead one of our Tech Units at ABOUT YOU.

Our Tech Department is the heart of ABOUT YOU, driven by the passion to develop the best  infrastructure & applications. As our Director Product,  you will be responsible for a 20-to-25-member team of developers, product owners, business analysts and project managers together with a Director Tech. With your deep understanding of eCommerce processes as well as stakeholder and people management, you will manage a unit with many stakeholders and dependencies and enable application teams to deliver technical and business roadmap features in quality and on time, supporting the growth plans of ABOUT YOU

Job Description

• Manage and mentor a cross functional team of product managers and project managers, assist in decision-making processes and be attentive to challenges and needs during daily operations
• Closely collaborate with stakeholders (business and tech) in order to understand their needs,  advocate smart and business-value driven solutions across your tech  teams, as well as to sensitize stakeholders to the tech perspective.
• Act as a role model and leader for your team, keep spirits high, get yourself involved wherever needed and bring drive into the unit
• In close cooperation with the Director Tech, enable application teams to deliver technical and business roadmap features in quality and on time, supporting the growth plans of ABOUT YOU
• Establish an environment of knowledge exchange to manage and distribute knowledge within and across teams
• Align with the ABOUT YOU Commerce VP level on the strategic direction of the unit, goals and measures in line with overall company targets

Qualifications

• A management professional with 10+ years of professional experience with a minimum of five  years of experience in managing team environments that enable tech teams to function at their best
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that help you understand and manage business and tech stakeholder needs as well as to maintain a sustainable relationship with stakeholders
• While managing teams and making strategic decisions, you are willing to “dig deep” into operations and help teams unblock and reach their goals
• Product oriented thinking and good understanding of partner and B2B processes
• Tech enthusiast, experience in the digital retailing market with a focus on  B2B processes is a plus
• You are comfortable with working in an international working environment and your written and spoken English skills are very good
• You can identify with a proactive, responsible and data-driven mindset and feel confident in making informed decisions
• In order to align on effective and timely  solutions you create full transparency on management level, including positive status updates as well as operational challenges, risks and impediments
• Experience with Jira + Confluence
