The Director, Global Rheum-Derm Scientific Communications Lead will be driving strategic, scientific, and technical leadership in planning and driving the scientific direction for the development and dissemination of scientific communications (i.e., manuscripts, abstracts, posters and presentations). This position will support assets in the Dermatology & Rheumatology therapeutic area within the immunology portfolio
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a key scientific lead for publications for the assigned asset(s) within the Dermatology & Rheumatology TA, providing editorial, scientific and strategic expertise. This includes assisting in the development of the publication plan and leading the delivery of the publication plan
- Responsible for oversight of content quality for publications and presentations within the Dermatology & Rheumatology TA as well as reviewing all project related content for scientific accuracy and consistency. Provide direction, oversight, and feedback to writers, contracts, and vendors.
- Responsible for direct line management of 3-5 medical writers and medical communication personnel
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal (Biostats, Global Medical Affairs, R&D, Med Affairs TA leads, Scientific Communications team) partners/authors and external (key opinion leaders, principal investigators) authors
- Serve on the Scientific Communications Leadership Team to provide insights, share feedback from team members, and provide solution-oriented input to shape the Scientific Communications Department
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key scientific lead for their assigned TA, providing editorial, scientific and strategic expertise
- Have significant impact on the business by playing a critical role in the dissemination of clinical study data
- Be responsible for oversight of content quality for publications and presentations within their assigned TA as well as reviewing all project related content for message accuracy and consistency
- Build working relationships with partners, clients and KOLs including meetings and teleconferences
- Be responsible for direct line management of 3-5 medical writers and medical communication managers
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal (Biostats, Global Medical Affairs, R&D, Med Affairs TA leads, Scientific Communications team) partners/authors and external (key opinion leaders, principal investigators) auth
