Abortion Care: At PPRM, we all work in abortion care. This role supports abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services.
Snapshot: The Advanced Practice Clinical (APC) Training Manager is responsible for program development and maintenance of our advanced practice licensed staff training. They will report to the Clinical Training Director and partner cross-functionally with stakeholders with the goal of designing, developing, delivering and measuring learning programs for licensed staff at PPRM. This person will supervise a team of advance practice trainers. They will also function as a clinical trainer (elbow to elbow) for PPRM advanced practice nurses, and physicians who provide care in PPRM health centers. This position has a 20% clinical care component where this person provides direct patient care to patients once weekly.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Current Colorado or New Mexico state licensure, if an internal hire, Level 3 clinician or above
- Ability to become licensed in all the states where PPRM has health centers.
- 3-5 years of experience in Women’s Health or Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Program management experience preferred
- Experience in virtual, group, and one-on-one facilitation preferred
- Demonstrated record of excellent clinical judgment
- Comfort working within a protocol based clinical care system.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and to be a self-starter
- Proficient in the MS Office suite including Word and Excel; ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software programs. High comfort level with electronic health records.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel up to 2 - 3days/ week when needed.
Primary Areas of Responsibility/Essential Functions:
Program and Staff Management: 50%
- Manage and implement one or more programs; includes content delivery, skill-based learning activities, and group facilitation.
- Work collaboratively with the clinical and operational leaders to ensure timeliness of training in line with operational needs and goals.
- Lead your team and deploy resources strategically.
- Work with Clinical Training Team to develop blended technology-enabled learning solutions
- Manage assigned projects and maintain project deadlines, evaluate project effectiveness with stakeholders across the agency.
- Establish and evaluate training and efficiency competencies annually for the APC trainer team.
- Support and inform the APC Mentorship Program
- Supervise the training activities of APC Training Team
- Onboard new APC Trainers
- Develops curriculum and training tools for internal trainings in collaboration with clinical leadership and other stakeholders
- Leads and develops continuous quality improvement framework/dashboard for the training department material
- Assists in the development of PPRM’s continuing education and professional development opportunities for clinicians in collaboration with clinical leadership team
- Assures compliance with PPRM, PPFA and state health department policies and guidelines, as well as state and federal regulations including OSHA, CLIA, and nursing, medical and pharmacy boards
- Maintains and improves, as needed, PPRM’s clinician orientation program, including orienting clinician’s to EHR system, Next Gen
- Actively works to reduce abortion stigma and participates or leads value clarification exercises for the health center staff.
