We are seeking a Sr Business Development Manager to be responsible for identifying the sales opportunities for assigned events including conferences, trade shows, media opportunities, contributes to research efforts and prepares reports as requested. While performing the essential functions of the position, will have extensive contact with customers, vendors and other industry contacts and specialists. This position requires event management and team activity management.

The preferred work location is remote located in Florida or East Coast region.

As our Sr Business Development Manager, you’ll support Questex’s success by:  

  • Sell opportunities and sponsorships which may include hosted buyer participation or sponsored events, tabletops within assigned events and territory.
  • Sell digital and print media opportunities to accounts within assigned territory.
  • Performs extensive research on the marketplace, developing lists of new prospects
  • Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned event in assigned tier of customer categories
  • Creates proposals to create higher value packaged opportunities as available within the event(s)..
  • Attends and finds new clients at competitive events.
  • Attend industry functions, including evenings and some weekends and travel.
  • Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Prepares summary activity reports detailing account contacts, product, competitive and market information via Salesforce database as well as using other company provided client management tools such as GONG
  • Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling.
  • Performs to the expectations of the group in terms of sales activities, management of prospects and leads within our contact management system, currently, Salesforce.
  • Is first line of contact for fellow sales professionals with client questions and is senior sales manager at staff events, may be required to present team updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Group Sales Director.

Your Experience and Education include:              

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event sales media sales (experience in both is a plus)
  • Experience in the travel industry preferred
