Dawn’s Inspire Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Global Bakery Industry. With over 100 years of expertise, Dawn provides a platform for interns to experience our vibrant company culture, embrace our core values, and gain valuable knowledge for their future careers. This will be an amazing opportunity to learn about the operations of Dawn Louisville while being provided an opportunity to assist with Continuous Improvement opportunities.
Dawn Inspire Internship Program interns will benefit from:

This is a full-time position, working on-site in the Louisville, KY Manufacturing Plant. Travel will be required during the initial week (5/20) and the concluding week (8/5) of the internship.
What Does It Take to be an Intern at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with an interest in working in the Manufacturing industry.
- Must at least complete junior term or equivalent in credit hours prior to internship.
- Current academic status must reflect good performance in relation to institutional academic standards.
- Strong interest in Food Manufacturing or Operations Continuous Improvement.
- Basic knowledge of relevant tools to showcase Continuous Improvement (CI) findings (graphs, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Proficiency in creating simple spreadsheets and work instructions using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Must have the desire to learn the processes of Dawn operations while making our industry leading products.
- A manufacturing background is a plus, with simple root cause analysis understanding.
- Ability to conduct simple time studies.
- Analysis of line capacity and ability to determine where possible bottlenecks could occur.
- Clear concise communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Operations to seek greater understanding and clarification.

What You'll Do as an Intern
- Conduct research on assigned topics and present findings to the team.
- Time studies establishing OEE.
- Assist in enhancing and improving current practices, and document them in training materials.
- Conduct job task analysis based on work instructions to validate that "what we say is what we are doing."
- Learning basic SAP applications to perform production audits.
- Contribute to the development of auditing tools for the Continuous Improvement (CI) project implementation.
- Collaborate with frontline employees to identify and address obstacles to achieving daily production goals.
- Work with cross-functional teams to enhance throughput and operational efficiency.
- Engage in brainstorming sessions with team members, actively contributing to problem-solving efforts.
- Shadow experienced professionals in your field of interest, learning from their expertise.
- Proactively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills aligned with your career goals.
- Take initiative to suggest process improvements and contribute innovative ideas.
