The Director, Financial Systems is the Business Lead within the Controllership organization responsible for the strategic vision, implementation, and integration of our financial reporting and budgeting information systems in Oracle Cloud.
This position must understand the Finance business functions and exhibit broad and technical expertise to recommend technology to support business processes. This individual must demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication skills when interfacing with both the business and the IT team. This role will establish and maintain the Company’s data governance process and policies.
This role will be based at our Global Support Center in Atlanta-GA, requiring onsite work for 80% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Lead responsible for the implementation, evaluation, monitoring, and maintenance (including quarterly releases and regression testing) of the Oracle Cloud Suite of products (Oracle ERP/GL, FCCs, ARCs, EPBCs, and EDM) related to the accounting and finance departments.
Work with all levels of the accounting and finance teams, IT PMO, EPMO, including management, to clearly define user requirements, translate the requirements into detailed functional requirements, define solutions that anticipate future needs, leverage knowledge of industry trends, and communicate delivery status to the business.
Act as a liaison between various Accounting, Finance, project management, and IT teams.
Work closely with decision makers across departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support technology solutions that impact the accounting/finance department, with ability to define the strategic vision of multi-brand, multi-currency, public company environment.
Manage data integrity, including metadata and EDM experience, including Chart of Accounts and hierarchy structure across the organization.
Create and deliver documentation for each phase of SDLC including but not limited to creating user requirements documentation, system impact assessment, test plan, test scripts, traceability matrix, training plan, communications plan, end user guides, RAID logs, status reports, data migration plan, etc.
Manage implementations and integrations of ERP financial systems for accounting and finance departments including gathering business requirements gathering, documenting data and operational workflows, developing and executing the roll-out of strategies, managing user acceptance testing, providing end-user training and support, developing end-user documentation, and managing go-live execution, primarily with new acquisitions.
Support Finance team through period close (month end, quarter end, year-end).
Conduct gap analysis between delivered functionality and finance requirements and recommend solutions.
Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of Oracle Cloud financial modules, accounting transactions, and system flows as necessary to understand the impacts to financial reporting.
Develop and maintain proficiency in using the Oracle Cloud development tools and report writing tools utilized by the core accounting systems and provide training.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the accounting system design, particularly as it relates to data flow.
Analyze problems, formulate solutions and alternatives, decide on the solution and identify the work task that must be completed to achieve the expected results.
Assign tasks to group members, arrange for assistance required from other IT/business groups and formulate a project plan to achieve the goals.
Monitor systems and communicate exceptions and variations as required to maintain a reliable and predictable operation; identify incorrect operations and system failures, focused on building and maintain a foundation that is sustainable through growth.
Work with systems users and IT organization to correct the failures and restore the system to proper working order in an efficient and timely manner that minimizes the adverse effects of the failure as the business demands.
Lead, drive and refine systems where needed to support existing and new reporting requirements while maintaining reporting continuity with minimal disruptions.
Plan, direct and assure the timely completion of the work at the required level of quality to meet the long and short-term needs of the organization.
Create and communicate a clear definition and understanding of the work requirements and goals as well as any constraints in terms of time, policy, cost or quality.
