Senior Laboratory Assistant

Under the general supervision of Practice Site Manager, coordinates all daily function and staff in the Pathology Specimen Processing, including phlebotomy.  Performs some or all of the following duties in one or more laboratory sections:  Coordinates and participates in specimen collections, prepares specimens for testing, dispatches specimens to department or referral laboratories, and receives/processes/disseminates/requests/specimens/ reports/test results as indicated.

Required Qualifications:

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License Or
• Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License
• 2 years in a medical/laboratory setting. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months in an acute care setting.
• 1 year Phlebotomy experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
