Job Title: Manufacturing Group Leader
Location: Williamsport, PA (works on-site)
Shift: 2nd Shift-Hours are 3PM - 11PM (overtime to 1AM and Saturdays as needed)
At Spartronics, our Group Leader is a cooperative role between production team members and supervisory leadership. This role acts as a partner with their team to remove obstacles to efficient production in order to support first pass quality while meeting daily production goals. This role will engage quality, management, supply chain, and engineering as needed to solve problems and improve processes. This role is the first line of support in the “work smarter not harder” mindset. The group leader requires an individual who can work autonomously, think critically, and effectively communicate.
What a Day Looks Like:
- Ensure team members are following safety and personnel issue; bring issues to Supervisor or Manager to address if issues require anything greater than peer coaching
- Communicate daily and monthly goals and KPI’s and support continuous improvement.
- Work with the team members to ensure daily production goals are met
- Ensure that your team members report to their workstations at the start of their shift. Monitor break and lunch periods to ensure time compliance.
- Ensure that team members have tools and documentation needed to accomplish their tasks
- Promote high standards through leading by example and ensure the team understands standards and behaviors that are expected to be successful.
- Act as a coach and mentor to all team members to achieve goals
- Review work completed by team members to ensure first pass quality
- Move stages of production in WIP stages (Work in Progress)
- Engage resources to trouble shoot and resolve issues that slow or stop production such as material, engineering, or quality issues.
- Review time and attendance for missed punches. Make Supervisors aware of PTO requests for timely review and approval. Engage supervisor and/or HR when needed for personnel issues
- Provide feedback to operations leadership about progress, success, issues, and opportunities of the assigned team.
Requirements
Education/License/Experience Required
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 9-12 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in EMS industry and prior demonstrated leadership
- Ability to work 2nd shift 3PM - 11PM (overtime to 1AM and Saturdays as needed)
