Job Summary:

Prepares and serves food to customers, ensuring high-quality service. Responsibilities include cooking, following recipes, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. May prepare special diet meals and assist with inventory and production planning.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of food service experience involving food production.

Licensure/Certification:

• Not applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Follow hospital and department policies to ensure excellent customer service and teamwork.
2. Strive for high customer satisfaction by maintaining quality service and standards.
3. Ensure sanitation compliance, maintaining a high health department rating and safety standards.
4. Monitor food quality, follow recipes, and meet production and delivery schedules.
5. Follow workplace safety and sanitation rules, completing cleaning tasks as required.
6. Participate in mandatory training and improve cooking skills (e.g., grilling, knife skills).
7. Support departmental performance improvement efforts and assist other teams as needed.
8. Minimize waste, control costs, and properly utilize equipment and supplies.
9. Plan daily tasks to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
10. Prepare food using standardized recipes to maintain high quality, track leftovers, and comply with labeling and storage guidelines.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Fluent in English and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to operate cooking equipment and adjust recipes for volume.
• Can work in varying temperatures (hot kitchens, freezers).
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills to interact with a wide range of people.

Work Environment:

• May work in kitchen or retail areas.
• Exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing/Walking: Frequent (35–65%).
• Lifting/Carrying/Pushing: Up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Other Activities: Bending, reaching, and dexterity required.
