Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Maintenance Programs Engineers (MPE) to join their team in Seal Beach, CA.

As a Maintenance Programs Engineer, you'll gain valuable experience in resolving technical issues and addressing inquiries from airline customers regarding maintenance requirements. You'll become familiar with the industry-standard MSG-3 analysis methodology and the process involved in deriving scheduled maintenance tasks. Additionally, you'll develop an understanding of the technical contents within the maintenance documents that the MPE oversees, as well as the procedures for revising them. Moreover, you'll have the opportunity to participate in Industry Steering Committee (ISC) meetings, engaging directly with airline customers and FAA personnel either in face-to-face sessions or any other scheduled airline customer meetings throughout your rotation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Non-recurring and sustaining development of Maintenance Planning inspections and requirements

  • Participates in organizational activities that influence the Aerospace Industry

  • Provides supporting documentation to adhere to Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and Federal Aviation Administration/Foreign Regulatory requirements

  • Analyzes complex engineering designs, supplier and engine manufacturer design data to determine and develop maintenance requirements

  • Influences product designs and processes to ensure safety and maintainability

  • Conducts engineering analyses to verify the accuracy of maintenance and repair data

  • Performs customer interface to support customer inquiries and develops technical solutions to customers; evaluates customers' maintenance operations

  • Develops new procedures and techniques to allow users to maintain and repair products

  • Develop and provide technical solutions to customers, evaluate customers' maintenance operations, guide the development of procedures and techniques to allow users to maintain and repair products, and guide changes in various airplane maintenance documents

  • Works under minimal/general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years of experience in gathering, preparing and analyzing technical data for the development support products including logistics engineering, logistics support analysis, technical publications, support equipment, spares, provisioning, field services, maintenance, etc., supporting product lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

  • Experience with military maintenance engineering practices

  • Have or have held an Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License

  • Experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment

Typical Education / Experience:

  • Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
