Job Description

Purpose:

We are currently seeking an innovative and dedicated Research Associate to work on research projects in the area of industrial distribution sales, marketing, and management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, coding, statistics, and machine learning. They should also possess the skills necessary to develop complex models, novel methodological approaches to data problems, and creative data visualizations.


Responsibilities:

  • Research: Carry out extensive research in industrial distribution sales, marketing, and management. This includes formulating research problems, developing innovative solutions, and presenting results in compelling and easily communicated ways.
  • Data Analysis and Modeling: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to understand employee and manager performance in industrial distribution organizations. Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to this data to gain insights.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with others on research teams on industry and academic projects.
  • Documentation and Presentation: Prepare research reports for industry audiences and possibly present results to industry or academic audiences.

What is helpful:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Marketing, Management, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field with a desire to focus on industrial distribution topics.
  • Proven experience with data analysis, modeling, and machine learning
  • Prior experience in industrial distribution or B2B marketing or sales.
  • Excellent track record of research projects and academic publications.


What is needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Two years of related professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in programs such as Python, C++, R, Stata, SAS, SPSS, HLM, etc.
  • Ability to design and execute complex research projects, and to interpret and communicate the results in a clear and effective manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
