Position Summary

The Hermann Center for Child and Family Development, in partnership with the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine, is seeking a passionate and skilled Program Coordinator to engage with the community, learn from the community’s experiences, and adapt our services and treatment approaches to promote education and collaboration at the intersection of child mental health and community wellbeing. They will serve as a liaison to strengthen collaboration between the Hermann Center for Child and Family Development, WashU Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and community-serving agencies.

The Program Coordinator is an integral member of the center’s clinical and research team. The position will involve a combination of working independently and on a team to assist Hermann Center Leadership as well as a team of collaborating investigators, faculty, and other center leaders.

Neighborhood Human and Social Services Coordination: Under the direction of the Hermann Center for Child and Family Development Leadership and WU Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP). Works with neighborhood resource providers, institutional representatives and other stakeholders to evaluate, develop and implement human and social service programming throughout the targeted neighborhood.

The Program Coordinator will work with St. Louis community schools, churches, and organizations to develop, support and improve programming and educational opportunities for neighborhood residents.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists with operational coordination of department programs and activities, social media and communication outreach, database and file management, internal and external correspondence.
• Builds and maintains strong, trust-based relationships with community partners, including schools, nonprofit organizations, health systems, and local agencies.
• Facilitates education to the community which has been refined and developed within the Hermann Center.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary research, clinical, and training teams to translate community priorities into actionable programming.
• Prepares appropriate periodic reports and presentations.
• Provides technical assistance to neighborhood groups and stakeholders as needed.
• Attends appropriate neighborhood meetings to maintain a positive relationship with neighborhood residents and stakeholders.
• Maintains appropriate records and documentation of projects and programs.
• Assists in the evaluation of the Center’s community-engaged work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
