The Role

Fidelity’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is looking for an experienced Head of Debit Card Fraud to join our team in our fight against fraud. The individual will participate in overall debit card fraud program management as well as daily operations involving the creation of enhanced detection, prevention, and technical investigation of fraud events involving debit cards. The position is heavily collaborative and works multi-functionally across all lines of business and global security, including Fraud Detection, Fraud Capabilities, Fraud Investigations and Legal, Compliance and Enterprise Cyber Security.

As the Head of Debit Card Fraud, you will be defining, evolving, and communicating strategic priorities, the product area vision, and its mission, to complete business strategy and increase the value delivered to customers.  In addition, you will define & measure performance, through objectives and KPI’s.  Evaluate and resolve capacity needs aligned with strategic priorities, making trade-offs where necessary.  Ensure team optimization through ongoing prioritization and evolution of the team missions.  Assess industry and customer trends and sharing insights, knowledge, and developments across product areas and teams. Your responsibilities include:

  • Owning the debit card fraud management lifecycle.
  • Influencing broader strategic decisions for debit cards.
  • Defining and developing fraud monitoring strategy for the product
  • Setting, refining, and communicating the team’s strategy and mission.
  • Preparing or reviewing operational reports or project progress reports.
  • Setting vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Regularly providing guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
  • Identifying and planning for future resource needs.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience managing debit and / or credit card fraud.
  • Experience in building and managing fraud detection and response teams
  • Familiarity with cyber fraud, technical threats, technology risk, and privacy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, while using the skills, and knowledge to accomplish tasks.
  • Possess the ability multi-task across a variety of responsibilities in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Identify fraud trends, red flags and recommend preventive measures to management and business units.
  • Developing new solutions and tools that risk professionals will use to proactively identify risk across the firm.
  • Strong focus on execution and identifying, communicating, and removing impediments to progress.

At Fidelity, our goal is for most people to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through what we’re calling 'Dynamic Working'. Most associates will have a hybrid schedule with a requirement to work onsite at a Fidelity work location for at least one week, all business days, every four weeks. These requirements are subject to change.

Reminder: Per the Dynamic Working Policy, approved exceptions will be reviewed annually, or when the associate accepts a new role, whichever comes first.

The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
