Accounting Analyst (Remote)

OverviewThis position is part of the Dealer-Owned Warranty Company (DOWC) accounting team.  The team member will be responsible for updating the monthly financial statements for a group of assigned auto warranty companies.  Excellent communication skills, office automation knowledge and analytical abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Post monthly financial transactions for assigned warranty companies, including cash, accrual, and investment transactions.
• Act as a liaison between Protective/USWC, warranty company ownership, investment advisors, tax accounting firms and various third parties to assure warranty companies stay within compliance of financial guidelines, as well as insurance laws and regulations.
• Prepare financial statements, ratios, and net worth runoff calculations.
• Reconcile outstanding payable/receivable balances.
• Prepare financial review (performance) materials to be presented to ownership on a quarterly basis.
• Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, administration system enhancements and testing, gathering compliance materials and data, and interdepartmental projects.

Education/Qualifications

• Accounting degree, or equivalent, and 2 years of experience preferred
• Candidate must have strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Candidate must have a high degree of familiarity with network applications and office automation tools, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Some insurance industry knowledge is desirable.

Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $49,000 to $70,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.This position also offers additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance] OR [through cash compensation as part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
